The excitement is starting to show
As Saturday evening settled in, we returned home from Cairns, armed with several small bags containing the last of the items we’ll need for our adventure.
We picked up our currencies—$200 exchanged for 100,000 Chilean pesos, which has us curious to see how far that will go in Chile. The US dollars, however, didn’t inspire the same excitement. They will be more of a “just in case” fallback.
While having lunch at Coast Roast, we bumped into our good friends Liz and Pete. It was such a treat to catch up with them before we head off. We’re truly fortunate to have such a wonderful circle of friends—people who offer unwavering support and encouragement yet aren’t afraid to give each other a hard time. With warm well-wishes and a playful request for proof of life for Marc at the end of the journey, we wrapped up our time together.
With the final errands complete, we made our last few stops before heading home. With packing plans in place for tomorrow, we finally settled in for a relaxed evening after a long, busy day.
