Day 12 January 12, 2025

Today’s blog is sponsored by humidity

It’s been a brutally humid day, with the humidity at a stifling 85% and the temperature climbing to 35°C. The real-feel temperature soared to 42°C, and even in the shade, it was a scorching 39°C. While I love discussing weather patterns and the science behind such high humidity, I’ll leave it at that and tell you about our day.

We woke up to a power outage, but by 6:30 AM, the electricity was restored, and we were eager to get moving. Marc spent the morning tidying up the yard. It’s January, and anything can happen weather-wise at this time of year. The forecast predicts a cyclone could form off the coast by the end of the month, so we thought it best to get everything organised just in case.

I spent the day updating phones and tablets, ensuring everything was in order. I also sorted out the last of the finances, loading money onto our travel cards, and discovered the wonders of eSIMs. With one simple solution, we now have calls, data, and texts covered at a much better rate than using roaming on our phones.
