Flying Fish Point

Flying Fish Point, formally called Musgrave.
The name was changed on 1 December 1961 to Flying Fish Point, named after the cutter “Flying Fish” used by explorer George Elphinstone Dalrymple during his North East Coast Expedition in 1873.
The cutter Flying Fish was the principal vessel of his expedition. The southern shore of the mouth of the Johnstone River, Coquette Point, was named after another cutter in the expedition.
